Firstly, Don't predict ranks, they might be close but if they are not, you might be making a faulty decision. Wait for both ranks to be declared.Secondly, at AIEEE rank 8000 you don't stand much chance for the highly sought branches at NIT s/w/t and anything beyond i don't think will be worth preferring over IIT. Assuming your ranks do fall in that margin, go for IIT. Any branch Any Place.

It has been denied by the authorities. Don't bank on it. Work for BITS/Other exams instead. Best of Luck

80 in AIEEE ?I am not sure you will get mech anywhere good on those marks (Assuming you are general category)

firstly, bravo *clap clap* u have done a lot of research and reading on courses and faculty instead of blindly chosing an institute. DAIICT has no doubt very very good faculty. since u want to do an MTech (which i think will transform into MS in US/Europe later) i think DAIICT is a better choice. SVNIT is an NIT, but its not IIT , so its not really helping. keeping into consideration ur aspirations, the courses and faculty at DAIICT with exposure to research will not only help u in preparing for GATE but will give u a very good understanding of the subject which is the basic neccesity. Since the 2 fields are not very different, i would say go for DAIICT, if u decide to go abroad for education the LOR's and exposure from DAIICT will help u a lot.

DRDO takes entrance exam, but u need fatte masters and doctoral degrees

goto some good NIT with a "not so well recieved courses" like meta/prod/civil if u can...there is a lot u can do from such fields as well.

not a very good choice, u might as well get a grade A college in mumbai through that rank (not SPIT but still)....if u r going for NIT tag then its fine but i dun think NIT Srinagar is worth it.
