It came as a rude shock for the working professionals who were shortlisted for three-year MBA-Executive programme at RA Poddar Institute of Management when they were informed that their annual fee has almost been doubled.

The fee has been hiked from Rs 27,600 last year to Rs 47,600 without informing them during the time of admission. The students were only informed a day before the last date of fee deposition on August 13.

The college posted a notice informing the students that Rajasthan University's Syndicate has decided to hike the fees by 100%. By that time, a few student had already deposited the fee. They were asked to submitted the balance amount by August 29.

The students alleged that when they went for the admission they were told the fee would be Rs 27,600 only. This means they will have to bear an additional burden of Rs 60,000 in three years. The abrupt hike has apparently discourage the students with only 21 depositing fee so far for 40 seats.

However, the matter was kept under the wraps because none of the students raised any objection on it as it could be seen in bad light. Experts said that the university should have justified the fee hike by recruiting faculty.
