State-run telecom operators Bharat Sanchar Nigam and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MNTL) have entered into a pact with a pan-Asia mobile operators alliance to offer pay per day data roaming services to their customers in different countries.

The Asian alliance, Conexus, has 10 member-operators in 12 countries, including NTT-Docomo of Japan, Hutchison Hong Kong and FET Taiwan. It has a subscriber base of over 210 million.

The pact will enable subscribers of the two Indian companies to access pay-per-day data services on roaming, which would amount to cheaper and unlimited data download in member countries.

The allinace will also facilitate sim card renewal facility while travelling abroad in case of theft or loss along with access to MTNL and BSNL customer care services free of cost.
