CS and IT are both similar branches.Also the job prospects are also similar.The main difference between them is that in CS both hardware software are included whereas IT is software engineering emphasizing more on information system.
yeah .. they are like just two names .. a student can do exactly the same thing which a person in CS would do staying in the IT .. so it is possible ..
moreover, i wud say tat the job prospects are pretty similar
